Filmmaking has always been in my blood. From making short films while growing up in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts, to making feature films now, it's been an adventure. What started it all was a short horror film callled "Mecca" that I produced when I was 17.
After getting a taste for filmmaking I eventually decided to shift into acting. Attending the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in NYC in the early nineties really helped to hone my craft as an actor. It is this training that I feel eventually helped me to become a better director.
When I finished at Strasberg I moved on to LA to look for work. Through the lean times I turned to writing, which is something I'd done before, but now I decided to give it a real effort. In 1998 I finished a script for a crime/drama about counterfeiters entitled "Green". Ambition struck me and I decided that if I could write it, I could also produce, direct and act in it.
In late 2000 "Green" was released, marking the rebirth of my filmmaking career. I followed with another feature film in 2004, the suspense/thriller "Into the Black" and a short film/music video in 2005, "XJAM 05/Metal Meltdown". In June of 2007 "Across The Line", a "Miami Vice" inspired short film/Crime Drama was released.
Since stepping back behind the camera I've also worked on other people's projects as well. Even occasionally getting back in front of the camera. I guess everything comes full circle. |
