Bio:
Ian Thal has been a fixture on Boston's performance art scene since the late 1990s, originally developing from a spoken word act (which eventually led to his poetry appearing in numerous literary journals and anthologies) he began training as a mime in 2001, and co-founding Cosmic Spelunker Theater with James Van Looy and William J. Barnum, two other poet/mimes.
Ian's stage work includes solo work at numerous alternative art-spaces, and dance studios in not just the Boston metropolitan area but In Providence and New York, as well as numerous stints with Bread and Puppet Theater, and work with The Dresden Dolls. More recently, he joined the Commedia dell'Arte troupe, i Sebastiani, where he has played both male and female roles, including Arlecchino, Pedrolino, Pantalone, and Flaminia.
His film roles include "The Adventures of CMYK" directed by Katherine Machaiek and "Circuit" directed by Andrew Landauro.
He is currently studying ballet and kathak, a classical dance form of Northern India.
