Timothy Maurice is a composer studying Film Scoring in Boston.
Born in Maine, he began classical piano lessons at age 6. He performed solo piano pieces for his classes throughout primary and secondary schooling. At age 13, Timothy received his first 88-key MIDI keyboard for Christmas and began composing electronically. As a high school student, he performed various works of Chopin and Debussy at the Bates College Concert Hall prior to attending the college. During his time at Bates, he composed and performed a repertoire of original compositions in the style of the Romantic Era and participated in the college orchestral concerts.
In January of 2007, Timothy transferred to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In the spring of that year, he entered Berklee's 3rd Annual Film Scoring contest and placed as a finalist. Through the contest, he met director Patrick Jerome and composed/sequenced original music for his short film, "Lyrics of My Life," which screened at the Boston International Film Festival. Since then, Timothy has provided music for a couple short films and the feature-length "Walls Have Ears," which premiered at the BIFF in June 2008. |
