Bio: Caitlin McCarthy was born in Tampa, Florida, and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Emerson College, which is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best graduate programs in the country. Her screenplays have won awards and recognition at international film festivals -- most notably "Wonder Drug," which was selected as an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation script for the 2007 Hamptons Screenwriters' Lab and chosen for a live staged reading and panel discussion at the 15th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival; and "Vera," which was a winner of the Atlanta Film Festival's inaugural screenplay competition in 2007. In addition to screenwriting, McCarthy serves as an English teacher at an inner city high school. Prior to education, McCarthy worked in public relations, where she fostered relationships with the press and crafted messages for companies that were delivered worldwide.

- 2007 Hamptons Screenwriters Lab, Participant -- WONDER DRUG, Selected as an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation script. Lab is co-sponsored by the Hamptons International Film Festival and Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. My mentors were Tom Gilroy (SPRING FORWARD) and Joshua Marston (MARIA FULL OF GRACE).
