Hey, this is strange. I'm Steve York, and I consider myself a collaborative new filmmaker from the Boston area.
I have a colorful personal history, working odd jobs and dirty bars coast to coast for over a decade. These experiences, combined with an intense focus in the arts has delivered me to this point, making movies.
I crave working with actors and talented professionals in a group setting.
My strengths are writing and drawing, and I've applied these abilities to the camera and script.
In May, I graduate Boston University's CDIA Digital Film program. It has been an amazing experience for me, focusing my skills and preparing me for a heavy workflow and intense schedule. So, I'm ready for work.
As of now, I have a short doc in the Boston Independent Film Festival. "Filmies" is a quick profile on the Brattle Theater in Harvard Square, and the struggle for independent movie houses everywhere.
I'm currently in the middle of shooting my final project for the school, an original short narrative titled "The Statesman".
I'm also currently producing a profile for livecooler.org, a non-profit that offers energy solutions to lessen our carbon footprint on our environment.
I plan to stay in the Boston area as much as possible, as jobs permit. And I look forward to working with local independents like you. |
