A man risen from southern roots, Ben Bostick has produced and directed three short films since graduating from NYU in 2005. After a brief stint writing under the tutelage of Dan Savage at Seattle's influential alt-weekly, The Stranger, Bostick plunged head first into the Northwest film scene as a camera assistant. His ravenous appetite for a sharper cinematic learning curve soon led him to Los Angeles, where he gathered invaluable experience as an assistant director on several independent features, peeled back the skin of the studio system as a page at Paramount Studios, and mastered the form of commercial production as a production coordinator for Viacom affiliate Biz Betty Productions. Bostick insists it is high time for some hard-riding cowboys to shepherd our feral young flock of cinematicians into a new era of independent film. |
