Angele Galea’s (nee Cauchi) theatrical roles include Curio in ‘Twelfth Night’, Ceres in ‘The Tempest’, Liat in ‘South Pacific’, Miss Ames in ‘A Chorus of Disapproval’, Dandina in the pantomime ‘Cinderella’, ‘Honey’ in ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’, various characters in “Alarms and Excursions” and a distraught mother in “Ippermettili Nitlaq”.
She was Wench 1 in “The Real Pirates of the Caribbean”, Hooker 2 in “Man of East”, got beaten up as Nerio’s mother in the French film “Largo Winch” and played Charition in the film “Agora”, starring Rachel Weiss.
On television, she played Lorna Debono in the teleseries ‘Viva l-Ministru’, and Stef Gauci in the sitcom ‘L-Erbgha l’Huma’ where she was nominated for Best Lead Actress on a Comedy Series (2006) and she has also presented several TV programmes, including ‘Bottegin’, ‘Artenium’, and ‘Kerser Kwizz’ which won the BA award for Best Children’s Programme in 2002. She just finished presenting ‘Showtime’, a variety show.
She is studying counterpoint, fugue and other compositional techniques, having recently obtained a B.Mus. (Hons.) and an FLSM in piano performance. In her spare time Angele enjoys composing, painting, and working on her next art exhibition, which is happening in November of this year.
