Woody Bavota has been lighting, photographing, creating, producing and directing international productions for more than 30 years. He has worked on location in just about every state of the union as well as more than a dozen foreign countries.
During 1972 and 1973 Woody attended the New England School of Photography and for the next several years he worked in Bostons theater district as well as in regional night clubs as a stage manager, lighting plays and such bands as the New York Dolls and the Talking Heads.
Woody was hired in 1978 by the European firm Listenfine Management to light French drummer Pierre Moerlen, which included an exclusive performance at the Centre National d'Art et de Culture (Pompidou Centre) in Paris. Woody went on to provide his services to Pierre Moerlen as a lighting director and road manager for five world tours.
During the same year the English firm EG Management also hired Woody to light several of their touring musicians including Bill Bruford, Allan Holdsworth, John Wetton and Eddie Jobson. He also worked as a lighting director and consultant for televised concerts in Germany, Italy and France including a television special with Mike Oldfield.
Woody moved back to the US in 1989 and for the next three years worked with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, including the lighting design and direction for the Black Velvet Pants music video.
In 1992 he opened up shop in MA offering his services as a lighting consultant and production manager to Bostons concert halls and theaters. Woody then worked on shows with Meat Loaf, Iron Maiden, Ratt, Cinderella, Quiet Riot, Skid Row, LA Guns and many more.
The culmination of Woody's years of practical experience combined with his interest in film making led him to in the year 2000 begin working exclusively as a producer, director and HD camera operator.
