Media Makers and Performers Online Guide
Famecast

Awards $10,000 in categories (called "stages") that include a variety of music genres, as well as short films and animation. Performance artists (ie musicians) need to submit a new video when they reach the Top 10, while film-makers and animators only need to submit one video. For the musicians, the Top 5 are actually flown in to perform live!

From the site: "Welcome to FameCast, the first online competition to find America's top talent in Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, Hip Hop, Comedy, Metal, Singer-Songwriter, Spoken Word, Dance, Animation, and Short Film.

If you are an artist with true talent, upload your performance video now to get on stage and compete. The prizes are pretty sweet:  genuine stardom, global exposure, and $10,000 in prize money.

Here's a quick breakdown of how the competition works:

  1. Artists upload their performance videos and create their personal BackStage profile.

  2. Viewers decide which artists advance through each round of voting.

  3. Artists who advance to the Top 10 submit a new performance video.

  4. The Top 5 finalists on each stage—The FameCast 5—are flown in to film a live show and webcast.

  5. The online audience votes for the winner, the FameCast Fenom!

Becoming a FameCast contestant is simple and completely free. All you need to do is create an artist profile, upload a video of yourself performing, and submit it to one of the 12 stages.  Then simply tell your friends, family, office mates and groupies to watch and vote for your performance.

Your performance video will be posted for the general public to view and vote upon, with winners of each round advancing toward the finals. Viewers will have 1-2 weeks to watch and vote for their favorite performances.

The competition begins with the audience selecting the Top 50 artist performances. The contestant field will be narrowed each round until an ultimate winner is selected. Viewers may vote for as many artists they wish, but may only vote once per artist in each round.

Advancing contestants must submit a NEW performance video when they reach the Top 10 (Round 4).  Artists can choose to submit a new performance video during the Top 50 and Top 25 (Rounds 2 and 3), however, it is not required.   Short Film and Animation artists, please submit your work in its entirety during Open Submissions (Round 1) and stay tuned for more information on what to submit for the Top 10.

The final five contestants from each Stage will be flown on location to compete in the FameCast 5 Finals, a live webcast where the online viewing audience selects the ultimate winner in each genre – the Famecast Fenom."
