FREE WORK: I am a professional crew member and I have worked on (Put number of productions you worked on total) productions total and I am at the point where I am far more valuable than working for free. I refuse to sell myself short and I hope you understand that I can't do this as I am making a living out working in film. Thanks, but no thanks (For me, I have worked on 8+ productions total, including one internship and one to improve my GPA. The rest were paying. The big names on productions I worked on include Andy Dick, Jack Black, The Rock, Mo Collins, Kevin Farley, and several others. Oh, and I gave Kate Flannery from The Office a ride in my car during production. Working for free at this point would be going back a few steps in my opinion).
DEFERRED PAY: As soon as the last deferred production pays me, I will work for this one (For me, I only worked for one deferred production and they owe me $4,400 since February 2006).
LOW PAY: I'll let you know of someone who can work that low (I'll admit, I did work one production for two weeks and only got $200 in cash handed to me at the end. This was when I was starting out, though. Never again).
You are a professional and deserve to be treated like one. Don't let anyone take advantage of you.
