Ok so to start this off let me say this. Today is my brother's birthday. Woo! 25!
Ok that being said...we decided we would celebrate. So here we are, somehow 3/4 awake and we hop into his SUV to drive the 10 minutes down the road to the nearest 7/11 to get some slurpies and pitas or clubs. Let's face it, who doesn't love a random slurpie at 4AM?! Now I live in the country, so there isn't much to do so this 10 minute drive was nice. I'm sitting in the passenger seat when suddenly I see a...figure...run out onto the street from the corn stalks.
It turns out it was a deer. We kept driving because hey, "It's an SUV. How much damage could it be?" We get to 7/11 and hop out of the vehicle to take a look. Lo' and behold the grill is gone, and the entire front bumper and fender (i hate car vocabulary...are they the same thing?) was dented in. How is that for a 25th birthday present to my brother?
So at about noon I decided to take my car and go to Bank of America to deposit a $50 check. 15 minutes later, my gas icon turns red so I pulled into the gas station and up to a pump and almost cried. The person before me had spent $100.00 even on his gas. Screw that! I paid for $20.01 worth of gas and got a third of a tank. Yes, $20.01 because I tried making it stop on $20.00 and I screwed up.
To top it all off I realized that with college coming up at Berklee College of Music, I needed to order a replacement pair of marimba mallets since I play with four mallets and one pair had broken. To complicate things...I only play with a brand named "Innovative Percussion". The complication to this is, Innovative Percussion products are not sold in Virginia. One hour later, my debit card has been charged for $35.95 for one pair of IP240 Marimba Mallets.
Deposit : $50
Gas : $20.01
Mallets : $35.95
Total for the day : -$5.96
What a day.
