Hi Everyone,
Steve here with some news.
The Brattle Theater (do I have to tell you where it is?) will get national exposure with the forthcoming DVD release of
Hot Fuzz. Let me explain...
Last April, the Brattle hosted
The Hot Fuzztival - a collection of police action films that inspired
Hot Fuzz. The fest concluded with an advance screening with stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright in attendance. It was a tough ticket to get; and even if you got one, it wouldn't guarantee admission as the theater seats a mere 250. That being the case, more than 100 people were turned away.
(L to r) The Brattle Theater's Ned Hinkle introduces Nick Frost,
director Edgar Wright, and Simon Pegg.
In any event, whether you were able to be there or not, you'll want to watch The Fuzzball Rally: US Tour, which will be located in the bonus features section of the forthcoming Hot Fuzz DVD. It's a travel journal, photographed and edited by Simon, Nick and Edgar's friend. Fans waiting in line at the Brattle are interviewed. And, once inside the theater, the camera truly goes behind-the-scenes as you'll see the venue's rear screen projection system putting Hot Fuzz on the screen, and Simon, as he says, "Watching the movie in reverse."
We've never seen a movie like that at the Brattle before.
