A few weeks ago, we made it to Roxbury City Hall out of all places where a pair of iconoclastic film-makers (Tony Plummer and Jibril Haynes) showed several films that demonstrate their style of combining experimentalism with playful, even whimsical, symbolism. The audience was also quite different than the usual one sees at film showcases... not just because of the color of their skin (I felt as a minority as a "white guy"), but also because there were parents, children, youth, students, in toto a whole rich, velvety slice of society... enjoying, indulging in the artful edges of the film experience. What a trip.
You may see some of the trailers , enjoy some of the pictures , and read on their future projects and similar showcases.
