Beanywood stands for the Movement which aims to place Boston and New England Film - its people, its films, and its possibilities - firmly on the National and Global maps.

Become a Beanywood evangelist! Tell the world about what we're doing, come to the Networking Parties, come to the discussion groups, have a ball. If you're an organization, help us transform what is already there into what you have at times thought is possible.

The approach is three pronged, at all great approaches should be:

1. Production-wise, provide opportunities and tools for individuals, whether they be actors, film-makers, producers, musicians, entertainers, crew, cameramen, or DPs, to refine their craft, to find worthwhile collaborators, and to discover improved ways to fund their work as well as to distribute it. This is the most fun because it involves innovation to find ways to achieve those ends.

2. Politically, to help ease the process of film-making in Boston, whether this involves tax incentives and/or business credits, simplifying the permit acquisition process, and most importantly, capturing the imagination of our representatives in terms of what is possible.

3. Image-wise, to expose the vibrance and range of the film-making community in Boston, and to draw the eyes of the nation towards the excitement present here. Think viral video. Why not viral film?
