Dear Beanywood member,

I am glad to have met many of you last week, and for those I have yet to meet I look forward to the opportunity. As a member of the core team at beanywood.com, I am spearheading a new project, Essays from Beantown, which I am inviting all of you to be a part of.

Project Essays from Beantown, stems from my deep interest in peoples calling to film, what drew them into film, and their experiences thus far, the sacrifices they made, and lessons learned.

I believe everyone has a unique story to tell, from a biology major who left behind her lucrative job in the pharmaceutical industry for L.A to pursue an acting career, the young animator who realized that film provided a more effective medium to express oneself, or the cinematographer who realized that being a program director for a film festival was her true passion. By revealing your story you can inspire others, and also discover you are not alone in this fast passed industry.

Essays that have been submitted will be featured on the beanywood.com website. They will be updated weekly, and will be also available in the forum section. I hope you will join me in this endeavor.

Your Essays should be submitted to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , with the essay release form signed and pasted to your article and a brief bio. Minimum length of 500 words, single spaced. Photo optional. The essay release form can be found here.

Sincerely,

Rajiv Kularatna
