This is probably the most important part of the site. Of course you can use the forums system to post and read of new gigs, hires, etc. But you can also use the advanced search tools in the site to find actors, crew, film-makers, acting gigs, musicians, make up artists, story board illustrators, as well as, eventually, investors and distributors (that is the model we're moving towards). Usually these types of precision search tools have been only available at high profile LA and NY agencies at a cost of thousands of dollars. As part of our mission to bolster Northeast film production, Beanywood is offering these for free.

Given that as you know Beanywood is rapidly growing, every time you search you're likely to find people.

For all searching, you need to go to All-Things-Film Search . Then just select the level of precision :

1. Simple Search:
If you just want to search everyone's profiles for a particular keyword use Simple Search.

Some examples of keywords or phrases you can search for include actors, film-makers, SAG, music, or paid. Be as creative as you like. You can find other collaborators based on genre for instance.

2. Advanced Search: If you want to search for someone that meets exactly some criteria, say a particular profession and certain other characteristics, use Advanced Search.

Some examples:

  1. a male SAG actor between the ages of 25-35 that lives in Cambridge, looks Asian, and has special skills of Breast-stroke swimming at an Advanced Level
  2. an Editor or Musician who lives in Rhode Island with 10 years of experience who has worked with some national renown names,
  3. Or you're in a hurry and you need, a camera-person with Steadicam experience, who lives in New Hampshire, has at least five years of experience, and has his own equipment,

3. Expert Search: The limitation with exact search criteria, as in Advanced Search, is that sometimes you want someone who fits a certain range of criteria. In that case you're not looking for someone with exactly 10 years of experience, but at least ten years of experience. In that case, you will use Expert Search. As the database continues to grow, your imagination wil continue to be the only limit.
